I have been researching sign companies and we are looking at a pretty hefty fee for the professional routed wood signs that we like so much. The ones we looked at at our meetings are routed and treated and range from $60 per square foot ( Cheapest place is under $800 for one sign) Called 2 other companies and they are charging around $1700 for one sign!!!
I have found another option that will look great but have a shorter life.
Found and talked to a company that will print a custom design on MDO board. It would be a flat design (No engraving but full color)

The sign could be mounted directly to the existing sign.
They have an option of a laminate but this tends to fade the color.
The signs last around 3 years than start to fade.
No uv protection is offered but we may be able to find a product that we can spray.
The design:
I was going to design something that is bold and has the look of a wood carved sign.
It will look like carved sign until you get right on top of it.
Going with a Great Blue heron and a classy font.
Cost:
I need to get an exact cost for our custom size pricing on the site for a 24x48 sign is $133 + shipping
So I am thinking at max, $200 for one sign.
if we are doing it this way we will want to do both signs so they match.
I will post this and some design options on the site when I get the real numbers and some feedback from the group.
