St Martin ’s By The Bay Board Meeting August 18,2007 Ocean Pines Library – Ocean Pines, Md. 21811 Meeting was called to order at 12:30 P.M. by Oliver Walsh. and Mrs. Joseph Connors, Robert & Richard Turner, Mitchell David, Anthony Zimmerman, Pat Cleary, Oliver Walsh, Craig Costantino, Robert Shutt, Patricia Baglieri, David and Debbie Czorapinski, Stephanie Nornes, Nancy and Willard Wright, Neil Rosenblit, Jeff Stopford, William and Joleen Killinger, Joe Pino, Craig Pohland. Minutes were read by Joyce L Timmons and approved Treasurer’ Report; Balance checking A/C $4,024. CD’s $6621. Balance sheet on front table to be viewed by those interested. Mike told of funds at CBT waiting for disposition for disbursement. Also, gave amount of savings of pool care, lawn maintenance and trash removal. Electric and Sharp charges staying about the same as other months. Report was accepted and approved. Discussion on the concerns of Bill and Joleen Killinger began and was interrupted by Nancy Poret who ask that the meeting be directed to the current water problem. Ollie first gave hand-out of schedule from Dee Whitcomb of monthly usage going back to 2001, every month showing overage. Currently O’Malley’s code of violation starts 10-01-07. On 7-3107 Ollie placed application for permit of 9800 gals daily, and this is on only one well, and under minimum, sparely, usage of each household. Ollie layed out the cost of infrastructure to connect with O.P. lines: easement, meters installed, lines installed, design, permit for right of way. We are still under the cost of Ocean Pines. Ollie has spoke with D. Whitcomb, N. Lazarus, J. Ross to gather helpful information. Mr. Ross, Director of the Worcester County O.P. Plant has done research for lending institution for funds. Question: Mitchell ask why usage has gone up. Pino found leak at main hook up. Debbie suggested that meters be installed. Ollie: “good point”. “I don’t know”. Phil does the pool leak. John: Jeff Ollie, how confident are you that we can delay fine. Ollie: As long as we try to cooperate with MDE the $5000 daily fine can be on hold. Patty told of water restriction and assessment of $500. per occurance and made motion to enforce this, 2nd by Ollie and approved by Board. This will restrict all outside usage, sprinkler system, water hose and will allow five minutes of flow for watering flowers. Notice to be composed and sent out immediately. Jeff made suggestion that meters be installed if restriction failed. Patty made motion to install meters, Nepture System, and was 2nd by Betty Young. Jeff suggested sending Dee Whitcomb notice of the action we are taking to show that we are trying to comply with MDE requirements. Ollie made motion to adjourn meeting and 2nd by Mike.
